Who this is for

Common reasons adults seek individual therapy

For adults quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, or feeling like life has stopped moving forward.

Anxiety that runs in the background

The worry is constant, even when nothing is actually wrong. You overthink conversations before they happen, replay interactions after they are over, and it is exhausting.

Depression that doesn't look like sadness

You are functioning, but you are not really living. The joy feels muted, the motivation is gone, and you are starting to wonder if this is just how it is always going to be.

Trauma that is still present

Something happened, and you have tried to move past it. But it shows up in your relationships, your reactions, the patterns you cannot seem to break. It is time to do the work.

Feeling stuck in your own life

You have tried the self-help, the journaling, the advice from friends. But nothing actually shifts. Whether it is anxiety, ADHD, grief, or something harder to name, you are ready for work that creates real movement.

Substance use that's starting to worry you

Whether it's alcohol, a prescription, or something else, if you're noticing the role it plays in your life and want to understand it before it becomes a bigger problem, that's exactly the kind of work individual counseling is built for.

How individual therapy works

Thoughtful support designed around your needs

Therapy here is not advice-giving. Your therapist works with you, as a collaborator, to build a path forward that fits your life.

  1. Start with a free consultationA short, no-pressure conversation to hear what is going on and see if we can help with where you are right now.
  2. Your first session, 90 minutesYour first appointment gives us time to understand what brings you in, what you're hoping for, and what feels most urgent. Your therapist gets the full picture at your pace. It's a conversation, and you don't have to come prepared to talk about the big, heavy stuff on day one.
  3. Ongoing sessions at your paceMost clients start weekly and adjust as progress takes shape. Your therapist checks in on pacing with you regularly, and your goals guide the work throughout.
What changes

What becomes possible for you

Most people do not come to us wanting to be someone different. They come wanting to feel like themselves again.

Anxiety that stops running the show

Right now, anxiety is driving. It tells you what to avoid, who to be careful around, how much to share. Therapy gives you back the wheel.

A life that feels like yours again

Depression makes everything feel muted and far away. The work we do together brings you back. Not to who you were before, but to a version of yourself who is actually present.

Tools that work long after sessions end

The goal is not for you to need us forever. It is for you to leave with real skills, clearer thinking, and a different relationship with your own mind. That is what lasts.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Do you help with anxiety and depression?

Yes. Anxiety and depression are two of the most common reasons people come to us, and both respond well to counseling. Anxiety shows up in many different ways: chronic worry, sleep problems, a constant low-level dread, or sudden episodes that feel like your body is sounding an alarm for no clear reason. Depression is often quieter and harder to name, especially when you are still getting through your days on the outside. You don't need to wait until everything feels like it's falling apart. Reaching out early means we can help you establish something that works, so you never reach crisis. If you've been feeling off for a while and want to understand what's underneath it, that's enough to start.

How much does therapy cost?

Individual sessions are $200 per session. A 3-session bundle is $450 ($150 per session) for clients who are committed to a consistent run of work. We accept FSA and HSA payments. If cost is a concern, bring it up in your consultation and we'll talk through what works.

Does insurance cover individual therapy?

We are a private-pay practice, which means we do not bill insurance directly. After each session, we can provide a superbill you submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan. Keep in mind a superbill may also count toward your deductible, worth checking with your provider. If staying in-network is a priority for you, we're happy to help connect you with a referral. Going private-pay also means your care isn't shaped by what an insurance company will or won't cover, and your sessions stay more private.

What should I expect at my first therapy session?

Your first session is a 90-minute intake appointment. It is not a test or an evaluation. Your therapist will ask questions about what has brought you in, a little about your history, and what you are hoping to get out of the process. You do not need to have everything figured out before you come in. You do not need to know exactly what is wrong or be able to explain it clearly. Most people leave that first session with a clearer sense of what they are dealing with and a better idea of what working together could look like.

Do you offer online therapy sessions?

Most of our therapists offer both in-person and virtual sessions through a HIPAA-compliant platform. Online therapy is available to anyone in Texas. A couple of therapists, including our founder, see clients in person only, when you reach out we'll let you know what's available with whoever you're matched with. If you want to come in person, our office is at 7702 FM 1960 E, Suite 125, Humble, TX.

How long does therapy typically take?

It depends on what you are working through and what you want to get out of it. Some people make meaningful progress in a few months. Others choose to continue longer because the work goes deeper over time, or because having a regular space to think and process is something they want to keep. There is no minimum or maximum. After the first few sessions, you will have a much clearer picture of what a realistic timeline looks like for you, and we check in regularly so the plan adjusts as you move through it.

What is the difference between a therapist, counselor, and psychologist?

In everyday conversation, people use therapist, counselor, and psychologist interchangeably, but there are real differences. A licensed counselor or therapist, which is what all of our clinicians are, is trained to help you work through anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and most of what brings people to therapy, through talk-based, goal-oriented care. A psychologist can do that same therapy work and is also trained to run formal psychological testing, like assessments for ADHD or learning disorders. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can diagnose conditions and prescribe medication. We don't do psychological testing or prescribe medication, so if that's what you need, we'll help connect you with a psychologist or psychiatrist who does. For the therapy itself, our team is exactly who you're looking for.

Do you help with substance use or addiction?

Yes, for adults and teens both. If drinking, a prescription, or another substance has started to take up more space in your life than you want it to, that's something we can help you look at, whether or not it rises to the level of a formal diagnosis.

How do I know if I need therapy?

If something has been weighing on you long enough that it is affecting how you feel, how you relate to the people around you, or how you show up in your daily life, that is worth paying attention to. Therapy is not only for crisis moments. Many people come to us when they are functioning fine on the surface but feel stuck underneath, or when they sense that familiar patterns are playing out again and they want something different this time. You do not need a diagnosis or a dramatic reason to start. If you have been thinking about it, that is usually reason enough.
