Individual Therapy, Initial Consultation, Marriage & Family Therapy, Play Therapy

Hi there! I’m Bri Foresman, MEd, MS, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-I), supervised by Dr. Shawna Munson, PhD, LPC-S, LMFT-S.

I work with individuals, couples, and families who are facing life’s challenges and looking for meaningful change. My approach is holistic and collaborative—centered around your strengths and unique story. I believe we all have the ability to heal and grow with the right support, and I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and empowered.

My style blends client-centered, strengths-based, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. I also draw on training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 2 Certified) to support couples in building stronger, more connected relationships grounded in research and emotional safety.

I support clients through a wide range of concerns, including:

Anxiety and mood disorders

Relationship issues and communication challenges

Life transitions and identity exploration

Family dynamics and parenting concerns

Before becoming a counselor, I spent 12 years as a special education teacher. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for how trauma, stress, and resilience shape not just individuals—but entire families. It also showed me the power of feeling seen and supported, and it inspired my move into the world of counseling.

I earned my Master of Education in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling from Lamar University, and hold a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Research Psychology from The University of Texas at San Antonio. My graduate research focused on emotion perception and social-emotional differences in people with autism spectrum disorder.

Whether you’re looking to deepen self-understanding, manage stress, or strengthen relationships, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and care.

Chess Scott

Individual Therapy, Initial Consultation, Play Therapy

Hello! I’m Chess Scott, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-Associate) in Texas, supervised by Todd Puckett, LPC-S.

I work with individuals seeking self-awareness and personal growth, and I believe in the power of a collaborative therapeutic relationship. My approach is person-centered, focusing on creating a supportive space where you feel heard and understood. I openly acknowledge my personal experiences with mental health challenges, including firsthand experience with PTSD and major depression, as well as significant secondhand exposure to substance use disorder and ADHD within my family. At The Shift, we strive to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health, and I am dedicated to meeting clients where they are, providing support, and working together to navigate their path toward wellness.

My style is rooted in a collaborative therapeutic relationship (Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Title 22, Part 30, §681.31), and I draw from my own experiences to create a safe and empathetic environment.

Before becoming a counselor, I proudly served in the Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge. I also spent time as a real estate broker, experiences that have enriched my understanding of the diverse challenges people face. As a father, I bring a unique perspective to my work, appreciating the complexities of family dynamics and the importance of mental well-being.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Cum Laude) from the University of Houston and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Summa Cum Laude) from the same institution. My master’s program included over 260 direct clinical hours and over 600 total hours of experience.

Whether you’re looking to address specific mental health concerns or simply seeking personal growth, I’m here to support you on your journey.

Jordan Baca

Jordan Baca

Individual Therapy, Play Therapy

Hi, I’m Jordan! In therapy, I aim to create a space where clients feel safe to be fully themselves, without fear of judgment. My approach is grounded in building real, authentic relationships and working together toward whatever goals are most important to you.

I primarily use relational cultural therapy, and also draw from a range of other approaches, such as person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy, depending on what fits best for each person. In play therapy, I take a child-centered approach, creating a warm and accepting space where kids can express themselves freely and grow through the therapeutic relationship. No matter the age, my focus is on building connection and creating a comfortable environment where healing can happen.

I’m especially experienced in working with queer and LGBTQIA+ clients, as well as adolescents and young adults, but I’m open to working with anyone who feels like we might be a good fit.
